Trump Calls for Republican Unity on Budget

President Donald Trump urges Republicans in Congress to unite around a new budget bill aiming to avoid a government shutdown and extend funding until September. He emphasizes the importance of passing the proposal without Democratic support to ensure financial stability.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, urged Republicans in Congress to remain united around a new budget bill. This bill aims to extend government funding until September and avoid a shutdown next Friday.

According to reports from Fox News, House Republicans have introduced a bill of around 100 pages. The intention is to have it passed solely with votes from their party, something they have not managed to do since they gained the majority in January 2023.

The proposed resolution would extend federal budget funding until September 30. In a statement, Trump called for unity, asking citizens to give a few months to keep the country's finances in order.

In terms of details, the proposal includes an $8 billion increase in defense spending and a $13 billion reduction in unrelated spending. Additionally, a request from the White House is mentioned to allocate more funds to new areas, referred to as "anomalies," which include increased resources for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

Amid these discussions, Trump warned about Democrats' intentions to shut down the government, urging to prevent this from happening. The President emphasized the importance of unity within the Republican party to avert a government shutdown and move forward with the budget bill.

In his message on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump called on all Republicans to vote in favor of the bill presented by the House of Representatives. The proposal aims to ensure the continuity of government operations and avoid potential consequences of a shutdown if an agreement to extend funding beyond next Friday is not reached.
